A vesicle, in a citrus fruit, is a small sac comprised of a membrane and the juice it contains. This artwork is a tender reflection on the way we were isolated and yet next to each other during the lockdowns of 2020. We are all part of the same Grapefruit.

Vesicles is a mixed media work including paper, acrylic paint, hobby miniatures, resin, and genuine silver foil.

Sami Peterson has been creating Tangled Paper artworks since 2016. Currently she is inspired by satellite imagery, plant textures, and “emotional topographies.”
